Canadian Passport Renewals and New Applications in Montreal: Maps & Directions

Directions & Maps for Renewal and Application Dropoff in Montreal Quebec

This Passport Canada Office provides service in both English and French

There are the Official Passport Canada Offices, Receiving Agents and Canada Post Offices. The Official Passport Canada Offices are the ones that provide all services. They'll do rush applications, they can accept forms without guarantors (if you get a declaration done first) and they'll probably be better able to answer your questions. That's not to say that the other passport office types are bad, but just that passports application and renewals aren't the core function of those other offices. These "Real-Deal" Passport Offices (like the Montreal one that I'm providing directions and maps to) are the places where they aim to finish regular un-rushed passport applications within two weeks. The very busy Mississauga Ontario Passport Location that I went to during one of the really busy times when all of the news coverage was happening took just seven calendar days for mine.

Receiving Agents and Canada Post Offices are only a little better than mailing in your application. They might speed up your application a week or not even that. As of March 26, 2008, Passport Canada's website states that Receiving Agents and Canada Post take about four weeks to complete an application or renewal, and they also quote four weeks for mailed renewals and mailed new applications. Canada Post even makes you pay $25 extra. The advantage is that you can actually get away with not mailing away all of your important identity documents for those four weeks if you follow the method I documented here.

The Montreal Passport Canada Location/Office is the "Real-Deal" PASSPORT CANADA type of office.
